Daisy

I just got a job with my dream company YHA http://www.yha.com.au/about. I worked for them in Canada and have been trying to ever since moving to Australia but it seems no one wants to leave and so very few opportunities arise.  It is a not for profit association to foster international friendship and teach youngsters about other cultures through hostelling and travel. The staff are what makes working for YHA (HI in Canada) the best. It's unlike any other work environment and never feels like work, more like hanging out with your friends.

Feeling on top of the world, I bought myself a gift for being so successful: Daisy by Marc Jacobs.  I am not a big fan of perfume. I've had the same one for about 10 years So Pink from the GAP. Before that I had Dream from the GAP. That being said I fancy myself a Nose of sorts since I went to France at 14 years old and spoke to a Perfumer.  He told me that Redheads have a type of skin and body chemistry that does not hold scent as well and should use eau de Parfum instead of Eau de Toilette.  Eau  de Parfum has a higher concentration of the fragrance in the solution. He also recommended violets for me personally and told me to spray any scent onto my hair which would last longer than my skin.

A Queen of Vintage

I would like to think of myself as a Queen of Vintage. Practically everything I own is Vintage. If you simply must know what's happening on the vintage scene then you should mosey on down to my favourite website of all time   http://www.queensofvintage.com.  I became acquainted, well virtually, with Johanni a lovely girl Sweden who has THE best style and she has "The Look" that is in my opinion fabulous!  This is her Blog Profile http://me.johannaost.com/. Her Flickr account shows her many outfits and hairstyles. I just love her. Here is the link to her Flickr http://www.flickr.com/photos/johanni/.
Recently I had a black tie event to go to and I found a perfect dress.  I had an idea of what I wanted  (see above) and I went into Surrey Hills, Sydney to look for it. My first stop was Grandma Takes a Trip, a vintage store with a small carefully selected stock. I tried on one dress and it was exactly what I was looking for. Can you believe it.

Jervis Bay

Since moving to Australia I am amazed by the beaches here.  I've been going almost every weekend to various places to walk along the shore of as many beaches in my area I can find.  My favourite by far is Honeymoon Bay near Jervis Bay in NSW. This is in Point Perpendicular. It is a long dirt road drive which takes you to this secluded small lagoon of a beach. I saw dolphins swimming and jumping just outside of the small bay.  This was July which is our winter in Australia.
